For you food lovers

Summer is ending soon but it’s not time to say goodbye to beach yet.  If you love hanging out at the beach and taste great food, then you should come check out Lobset Fest and Taste of Santa Monica in September.

Taste of Santa Monica –

This is the seventh year of TSM.  This year will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 12-4 pm at the historic Santa Monica Pier off Ocean Avenue.  There will be 40 popular restaurants from Santa Monica area serving dishes.  You can experience a variety of dinging experience in a cool summer day while listening to live band.  The ticket is 40 dollars presale and 45 dollars at the door for adults.  It’s 20 dollars for students with valid ID and 10 dollars for kids.   This year you can also try making your own ice cream!  The Culinary School at The Art Institute of California will host an ice cream workshop.  Attendees will have the chance to learn about ice cream and gelato recipes and vote on their favorite flavor from this year’s event. If you love wine tasting, don’t miss the chance of attending wine garden.  You will need to pay for separate entrance tickets to taste wine.  It is additional $15 per person.  It should be all you can drink and truly a good deal.

If you want to burn off the calories, I recommend biking or skating on Venice beach after Taste of Santa Monica.  We tried renting bikes from an old Korean man on Venice before and the group rate was cheap.  It was 5 dollars an hour and he didn’t really care if you went over 1 hour.  If biking and skating on the beach is not your thing, you can also play volleyball on the beach.  That’s a perfect Sunday plan!
