The marriage of games and Hollywood is never Oscar winning material, but they never fall short on entertainment. Most of the video game movie adoptions generally have a common theme: The movie is about bad guys in trying to control the world, and heroes or heroines try to save the world. Although I am a big gaming fan, these movies didn’t make me want to go watch them. I’ve only seen two of games-turn-movies films.
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider(2001)
Starring: Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight Director: Simon West
Synopsis: This movie got a lot of attention because of hottie Angelina Joie. In my opinion, she is the only one that can portray well in Hollywood. She has that sexiness and toughness in her that make her a bad ass in the movie. This movie is about bad guys try to find the pieces of an ancient stone triangle in order to control the world. And of course, Jolie saves us in the end.
Resident Evil (2002)
Starring: Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez Director: Paul W.S. Anderson
Synopsis: Like the interactive game it’s based on, this horror hybrid pits a small band of SWAT-like commandos against zombies. Mila Jovovich did a good job, but I didn’t enjoy the plot very much.
