For American comics’ lover, they always have this class debate; which one is better? Marvel and DC? For Asian menga lovers, Dragon Ball Z used to be the hottest thing, and for younger generation, everyone loves Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. The plots tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki. He is a teen who grew up in a small village of Konohagakure, and dreams of becoming the most powerful leader. However, he is not liked by other villagers because he is part nine-tail demon fox. Because of his demon side, Naruto is hyper, loud and unpredictable. He tries very hard to gain respect and recognition. The menga series is about his adventure of becoming the strongest leader of all.

The manga was first published in 1999 in the 43rd issue of Japan. Due to its popularity, the manga would be later adapted into an anime and aired on TV network. Naruto has become the company’s best-selling manga series, and has sold over 71 million copies in Japan. The series is also widely popular in Asia. I have several friends follow this manga series very week and wouldn’t leave their computers before finishing reading it. I personally prefer old school Dragonball Z over Naruto. Maybe it’s a generation gap thing.
