SIMS also came out with many add-ons (expansion packages) to spicy up your characters’ lives.  I bought my expansion package on EBay for 50 dollars.  I don’t remember how many expansion packages I bought, but some are more fun than others.  House Party is a fun expansion because you can have many characters dance and play with different kinds of music such as dance country music and rap.  I thought the pet expansion is kind of boring and pointless.  You get to choose to adopt some cute puppies, and make your characters happier.  I began playing Sims2 few months ago and graphics are much better than the original.  In this game, you can set your Sims’ goals in life; popularity, fortune, family, romance or knowledge.  I didn’t really like this sequel because its concept is too similar to the original. However; I am interested in trying Sim2 Castaway.  I have been reading very positive reviews in gaming community.  Many players say this game is fun and addicting.  The game begins on a boat after the player creates a crew with one to six Sims. The player’s starting Sim wakes up on First Island. The Sim finds books detailing the goals the Sim must follow to survive on the islands and escape. Player’s Sim character must escape the island successfully.

I rarely play role play pc games, but Sims is one of the games got me addicted.  My friend introduced the game to me back in college, and I remembered spending many sleepless nights playing this game.  The Sims is a game with characters who are unhappy with their lives, and you need to make them happy.  Your Sims characters will have many needs.  The need for career, money, housing, entertainment, friendship, affection and even sex.  When you begin your game, you have an option of controlling multiple characters or just one character.  You will try to interact with other characters to fulfill your characters’ psychological needs.  Your characters will also be given limited resources to build a happier life.  You also need to make sure your characters’ basic needs such as sleep, hunger, shower and exercise are fulfilled everyday as well.  Eventually, your SIMS character will get paid better with better job, start knowing people and maybe get married and have kids.  

Sounds like a pretty stupid concept?  Yes…this game has very little excitement comparing to most of pc games I played.  But it is also very addicting because your characters have a goal (to be rich and successful) to reach.  Through SIMS, you can make your characters to do things or work at places you can’t do in real life.  You also get to choose to party with anyone or become anyone you want.  In SIMS, anything is possible.

I grew up playing video games, and never get sick of it. In contrast, my girlfriend says she just doesn’t get video games. They confuse her and she can never get it why boys get the excitement of fighting virtual monsters. Well, I guess playing video games are like having makeover sessions for men. There are a lot of theories why men are into video games but girls do not. I am sure you can find a lot of evolutionary theories pointing out the haunting nature of men and how it is a biological need for them to “kill.”

My girlfriend told me she got addicted to some stupid little games that she downloaded from Yahoo for free. The concept of these games is stupid and boring. The goal is to accomplish a mission within a limited time, but with very girly theme like baking a cake or planning a wedding. But surprisingly, we did share interests in playing some games. These games tend to have cute graphics and less violent. She agreed it is easier to get used to control these games and has more fun. These are a list of games we both agree even girls can enjoy a great deal.

1. Katamari Damacy

It is a PlayStation game first released in Japan. To accomplish the mission, the prince has to roll a magical ball that is highly adhesive around various locations, collecting increasingly larger objects, ranging from thumbtacks to people to mountains. This game has very cute graphics and is very humorous.

1. Sims

A popular role playing games that can get anyone addicted. It is easy to commend characters and make them do whatever you wish.

1. Rock Band

Rock band is more like a party game, and it is easy to get girls to play them. Everyone gets the concept of acting and playing like rock stars. Although my girlfriend is pretty bad playing guitars or drums, she is ok doing singing.

So, yes, girls can play video games if the concept gets them interested!

I love playing Kingdom Under Fire!

But it is getting harder and you can barely win if you do wrong in tactical part. Sometimes you have to make sure the units are moving to the right place in time while your character is still fighting with enemy. Also you need to pay attention to the fighting of other units. Like your range attack archers are encountering enemy infantry. Then you have to retreat and send cavalry to there. And there are some special units, giant scorpion, swamp mammoth and wyverns. Unlike infantry and archer, the scorpion and the mammoth has only one instead of a group. But the size is actually more than a group of infantry! It can apply some special abilities. The scorpion is very effective against the walls, with its shake waves, the castle walls can be eliminated in minutes! But it is especially weak against catapult. The mammoth is really powerful in range attack and also strong enough to take enemy’s fight back. But it moves very slow since it is like a mountain! I did not have the chance to finish it before I moved out. Hope it will be released in pc or other consoles someday!

This game is only released in xbox. I played this game because my roommate got it. And I think it is a pity that my game console does not have this game. It is basically a tactical game. You are in a world like Lord of the Ring. There are humans, Orcs, Elves and something else. You can play as many characters but everything is based on the story, so in the beginning you can play as a human warrior (actually the only choice) then after some stages, you will be an elf or undead! Like tactical war games, you can manage the units you want to use, upgrade them and move to places you want. When the battle begins, it is like real time strategy game. There is no turns, you and your enemy are moving all the time. You have to control the units and check the status of them. You can switch between divisions and it is really a fast pace game. When your character encounter enemies, you will enter action mode. It is like devil may cry or god of war, you can control the action of the character and fight. You can attack, defend, run. In the beginning, your tactical part may not be too important, you can take down enemies easily even you do nothing in strategy.

I love Star War.  I have the complete collection of Star War movies and games.  My girlfriend is planning to have a fairy tale Halloween party, and she wanted me to dress up as uh..you know fairy tale type of costumes.  But I already bought my costumes few months ago when buycostumes.com had clearance sales.  It is a Darth Maul Mask and Cape costume for 20 dollars and a light saber for 10 dollars.  I know I would probably look odd in her fairy tale party, but what can I do now?  I got my costumes way before she plans her party!

Funny and interesting game! I do not have Wii and I think if I go to buy it someday, it must be for this game! The most successful part of this game is the character. That crazy and funny rabbit! When I first played it is in my friends place. We were having a party on weekend and this is really a great party game! Everyone joins it and keep laughing. Unlike hardcore FPS games or action games that needs skillful player, this one is really simple and easy. But I do not mean it is very to pass, I mean it is really easy to pick up and enjoy it! Although every part is sort of different, some is like action game and others are like shooting or puzzles. Also some are like music game, you have to listen to the music and hit it with right tempo. The various game types really fits  Wii remote since it is capable of so many ways to control. Although it released in other consoles but it is definitely not so fun without 3 dimension movement detection. I am waiting for Rayman Rabbids 3 so we can have very fn party again!

Army of Hades is basically like missile; it will target the enemies and attack them. As for Medusa, everyone knows what she can do—petrify. The special attack consumes MP so you can use it only when necessary. You can earn points to upgrade you weapons, HP and MP. I think the greatest part in this game is the creativity. You always need to do some trick so the way to the next stage will show up. Sometimes you have to activate a statue so its eyes will lead the way; or you need to use the horn in the desert then the sand storm will disappear and show you the path. Almost every scene has some tricks in it. But it is not so hard to find and there is always some hints for you. But to obtain some extra items, you probably need to check the guide or it is kind of too hard for you. Another thing about this game is bloody. The fighting here is very hardcore. You will see blood everywhere and you can apply some special attack like twist and break enemy’s neck, stab directly into its mouth, pull off the eye of the Cyclops! In the end you will fight Ares in Athens. After killing him, you will be the new god of war!

It is the best action game ever! When I finish this game, I think I am so lucky that I did not miss it! The game is about the Olympic Gods and the Greece. You are a Spartan warrior and the goddess Athena asks you to kill Ares, the god of war. Your goal is to find out the Pandora’s Box, which can give you the power to fight a god. Also, you will get help from other gods: Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. By complete the mission they required, you will gain some magic power and makes you stronger. You will fight almost every monster in Greek mythology. Medusa, Lernaean Hydra, Minotaur etc. And you will go to many places too. You will fight the Hydra in Aegean Sea, Ares in Athens and Medusa in the temple. The weapon you use is the Blade of Chaos, which is actually from your enemy Ares. Later you will get the Blade of Artemis which can perform different attacks. The other 4 magic are from Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Medusa. Zeus Fury is for range attack; Poseidon’s Rage is like melee but effective against numerous enemies, especially when you are surrounded.

You can produce all kinds of units in this game. Army groups such as infantry, marines, heavy armor and paratroopers ect. Most units can have a brigade attaches to it. So you can further improve your units with different brigade such as artillery, anti-tank guns or armor cars. Same in your air force and navy, you can have escort wings in your bomber wings and probably some enhancement in battleship. In this game your army division can hardly be eliminated in battle. You will lose strength ( it will be totally eliminated when it goes to 0) during battle but the battle ends when one side lost all its organization value. So most of the cases is you defeat them and they retreat, but they are still there. They can recover if they have enough time. The easier way and probably the only way to eliminate it is when they have no where to retreat. There is no rout or path to their territory then the units defeated will disappear. But things are different in air force and navy, your ships can be easily sunk during battle. Air wings can be eliminated if you keep them fighting without reinforcement. I think it is very important to know when first play this game. As for the rest, you should spend time and enjoy it!
