As the name implies, the Olympus SP 565UZ is nearly a 570 but is dimensionally smaller and with a fewer other differences. It is 0.6 inches wider than the 570, 0.2 shallower and 0.3 inches shorter. The 565 has more shooting modes which it needs due to reduced manual controls over the 570. The LCD display is 2.5 inches versus the 570’s 2.7 anthe wieght is roughly the same. The 565 also has a slower movie and burst photo capture frame rate and comes with a microSD adapter. Still featuring the 570’s 20x optical zoom but also slow performance, the 565 is priced around $40 less so it makes a better value, especially since the 570 doesn’t capture good video anyway. For buyers who are serious about photography and don’t want an SLR, the 570UZ is still the Olympus to get.

HIGHLIGHTS: 20x optical zoom, 10MP, dual image stabilization, microSD adapter, sper macro mode, 13.5fps burst capture rate, 2.5 inch hypercrystal LCD display, and 33 scene modes

Customers RAVE about: zoom, ergonomic design, feature laden, microSD adapter, good picture quality using zoom and probably the better price.

Customers RANT about: not good at capturing movies, no real viewfinder, slow start up and recycle times, and less manual controls than the 570.
