Sexy Clothes for the Bettie Page in all of Us

Posted by blogster on Tuesday, December 16th 2008

In memory of one of the most inspriational fashion figures, here’a post dedicated to none other than “The Dark Angel,” Bettie Page. True, some of you may not know her, but those of you who do have bettiemania. She was the pin up model of the century, notorious for her black bangs, her luscious curves, and ‘naughty by nature’ physique.

Bettie Page, Playboy cover model in January 1955, broke the mold and showed us that she wasn’t afraid to show off her sexy curves or hide them beneath umbrella type dresses. Through her, bikini swimsuits became more popular, showing a little of your bra became a little more acceptable, cleavage, leg, and lingerie pretty much made it’s debut with Bettie Page. Fashion as we know it today, grew from the boldness that was Bettie Page.

Top 5 Bettie Page Fashion Must-Haves

Kate Bekinsale Burberry Style

Posted by blogster on Sunday, November 23rd 2008

I’ve always had this preconceived notion that Burberry was for old foggies - I mean who wears the ugly tan plaid? ICK. As judgemental as I was, though, when I saw Kate Bekinsale sporting this Burberry look, my mind was changed in an instant.

Kate Bekinsale is a fashion diva. She looks good in almost anything she wears. She could wear a potato sack and still look fabulous, I bet. But don’t envy this celebrity style, and better yet, don’t worry about saving up your whole life just to afford one outfit. Here’s how to put together this Kate Bekinsale Burberry style for less:

Grey or Black Ruffled Dress
Compare prices from $12.27

Black Cuff Bracelets
Compare prices from $11.99

Black Clutches
Compare prices from $12.92

Black Leggings
Compare prices from $13.95

Round Toe Pumps
Compare prices from $3.99

Polish off the look with dark colored nail enamel and go for the smokey eye makeup with nude color foundations and blush. That will work to bring out your eyes and really make them sparkle against all the dark colors.

What Doctors Say about the High Heel Hype

Posted by blogster on Thursday, November 20th 2008

I love high heels. My friends love high heels. We ALL love high heels. But why? They are fun, they make you taller, they make you look more feminine and sexy… yes, all of that is true… but how far would you go in your high heel hype knowing the dangers that you’d bring upon yourself.

Doctors agree that by wearing high heels, you exert a lot of pressure on such small areas of your feet, putting strain on your ligaments which makes it very easy for you to sprain your ankle and such. It can affect your walk, it can create pain in your ankles, legs, and even your bum! For some of us, though, we could care less about those negative effects and would go through great lengths just to sport the sexy stillettos - even if that means amputating a fifth toe! Shocker!

And if you’re one of those divas that thinks you’re above it all (”I’m an expert high heel fashionista and I don’t slip up on them… EVER…”), don’t kid yourself. Even the ones who wear high heels for a living take a fall. Watch the video - it’s an eye opener… or in the least, entertaining to watch the runway girl eat it.

“Fun” and “Sexy” doesn’t have to come packaged in a pair of 5″ high heels. Flats are just as flattering and quite trendy nowadays.

Find a Flat Buying Guide

Leona Lewis Looks Like a Man but I Love her Dress

Posted by jamie on Wednesday, November 12th 2008

I love Leona Lewis… from the time she put out Bleeding Love, to her smashing performance at the 2008 Olympics, to now. As much as I love the girl, her voice, and her style, I must say, she looks pretty damn manly.

I must say, I do love her dress. Here’s what I love about it:
* It’s a form fitting dress that hugs her curves (or makes her curves pop out - ie. her boobs)
* It’s got some geometry in it using contrast colors. It draws attention to certain areas and is craftily used to visually make her figure more slimming.
* It’s pink - enough said.
* It makes Leona Lewis look less like a man.

Steal this Look:
* Form fitting dress - from $35.52
* Gold bangle bracelets - from $19.99
* Gold hoop earrings - from $49.99
* Mood rings - from $39.95

What Leona Lewis could have done better:
First, since she looks manly, maybe she should consider making her makeup a little lighter like don’t make your brows so thick and give your lips a little more pink-ish tones. Also, don’t paint your nails dark colors. Go for a more feminine colors or get a french manicure. As for her shoes, she should go with strappy sandals rather than things that look a bit clunky.
